To The Prescott Valley Community,
On this one-year anniversary of the devastating fire that engulfed the Legado Apartments on April 1, 2024, I am reminded of the resilience and unity that define our community. In the early hours of that day, a fire consumed the 685,000-square-foot structure, resulting in a total loss of the project.
In the face of such adversity, the collective strength of Prescott Valley bristled. Local hotels offered rooms to those displaced, neighbors ensured the safe evacuation of residents, and emergency services worked tirelessly to manage the crisis.
The aftermath of the fire presented daunting challenges. Yet, through unwavering collaboration with the Town of Prescott Valley, the Prescott Valley Police Department along with numerous other agencies, organizations, and industry partners, we embarked on a journey of recovery. Remarkably, within just ten months, the site was cleared, and rebuilding efforts commenced—a testament to the dedication of our team, industry partners, and the broader community.
I extend my deepest gratitude to every individual and organization that contributed to this monumental effort. Your support has been instrumental in turning a tragedy into an opportunity for renewal. As we rebuild the Legado Apartments, we do so with a renewed commitment to serving and enhancing the Prescott Valley community. We are also mindful of the broader housing needs in our region, and this experience further strengthens our resolve to contribute to solutions for attainable housing, much like the initiatives we’ve discussed for our teachers, first responders, and workforce.
On behalf of our entire team, thank you for standing with us during this challenging time. Together, we continue to build a brighter future for Prescott Valley, a community known for its strength, spirit, and neighborly support.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Brad Fain
