On February 28th, 2024, Fain Signature Group released drone footage of the proposed remote Government Tank Quarry site for public consumption. The video has been provided to allow the general public to view the remote site being zoned and the surrounding area. As leadership and elected officials visit the site for tours, this video provides the public with a similar experience as the public is unable to tour the site due to the limitations of liability insurance given the rough terrain, lack of access and egress, and working cattle operation on the property.
Aspects of the video include:
- Distance to the property from Old Black Canyon Highway,
- A 360° pan of the site from 50 feet (also known as the anticipated maximum height of the material) and 80 feet (which is 30 feet or 50% above the maximum anticipated height of material),
- A viewshed of the neighboring communities (which depicts that a 50 foot high material pile cannot be seen from nearby communities),
- Google Maps drone footage of the site from each neighboring community,
- Street views of the site from the highest point and nearest point in each community,
- And a visualization of the proposed site in relation to the current operation near Stoneridge.
