Fourteen years in the making, Clyde Neville, Executive Producer of Prescott Valley Performing Arts, has established a place the Prescott Valley Performing Arts can call home.
It’s easy enough for one to miss at first hand, a simple sign on open land next to the Prescott Valley Event Center with the iconic tragedy and comedy masks beside the numbers 3235. This sign marks the accomplishment of a dream fourteen years in the making for Clyde Neville, Executive Producer of Prescott Valley Performing Arts, a place the community theatre can call home for good.
“We’ve been a gypsy theatre for thirteen, fourteen years,” said Neville who mentioned the theatre has moved to a variety of different locations since its start. “Some people have a hard time finding us from time to time but they find their way back to us. Once we are here, we’ll have a place we can actually call home.”
Everything started when Neville talked with Brad Fain of the Fain Signature Group. After much discussion, the Fain Family donated the use of building in the Prescott Valley Entertainment District for the community theatre. The current space, which used to serve as the Arizona Sundogs’ office space, seats eighty-four people and features a twenty-eight foot wide and fourteen foot deep stage.
Prescott Valley Performing Arts has called this place home for about a year, but Neville had a bigger dream from the beginning. Neville researched theaters across the county and figured out what would be best for the community. Neville brought a mission statement to The Fain Signature group who leased land next to the Prescott Valley Event Center in order for the Prescott Valley Performing Arts new home to be built.
“The Fains have taken an active part in the community in a lot different areas,” Neville said. “We thank them for that. They are an integral part of the community.”
“We are happy to see the performing arts expand in Prescott Valley and become a part of the Town Center,” Brad Fain said. As a family, we were glad that we could help make this dream become a reality for the playhouse. The Prescott Valley Performing Arts is a great addition as we work to continue to improve the offerings of the District and provide more opportunities for people to come for dining, shopping and entertainment as they take in the great mix of offerings all within walking distance.”
